Canvas of grief Who can interpret Love and loss Pain and peace Comfort and craving Guilt and grace Not chosen Forced and complex against darkness Light lost to heavy haze Eerie stills and haunting shadows Strokes of heart and hope Unveil

Wide Open

There is something very humbling and vulnerable about hanging something that you’ve made up on the wall for everyone to see. Sharing it with others transforms it from something that you created and love into something that can now be judged. It’s suddenly wide open to other’s opinions and judgement. What will other’s think? Will they like it, will they hate it? How could they possibly understand where it’s coming from? The emotion involved in it’s creation? Life is art. It requires a humble vulnerabity to share the canvases of our life.

Transition

Definitions of transition:
  • passage: the act of passing from one state or place to the next
  • a change from one place or state or subject or stage to another
  • cause to convert or undergo a transition
  • the process called transitioning is one of the most important aspects of change as it allows for advance in position
I was given this canvas as a gift, I was very thankful for the gift but I was also very intimidated. The canvas is almost as tall as I am—I didn’t know how tackle a project of that size…  Isn’t that a lot like life? Sometimes we are given BIG things to work on or work through. We go from being intimidated to being determined, it might be big—but it’s not bigger than us. We move from one stage to another, passing from one state to the next to allow for advancement.  The process of working through those times and transition are much like the color and texture transitions of this piece.

A New Canvas Everyday

Written by Michelle on . Posted in Art and Life Lessons

This blog site will be a place where I can share my fascination with the creative process. Art is the ability to explore the human condition which is creative to its very core. Every day we are given a new canvas. Some days we create beautiful masterpieces and others we take a step back only to see something that makes us cringe. We learn to appreciate both and gaze at them as opportunities to challenge our abilities and improve upon our techniques.  So here’s to my newest creative adventure in exploring life and art. I’m glad you found my site and hope you are making today a masterpiece!

Are you creating a masterpiece?

Very nice! Now the question is- How can we get these creations in our own homes or offices? Are you offering them for sale?

Beautiful art MK!.. So true. Each day we’er given palette of colors to use. Some days we may only have one or two colors to choose from others the whole rainbow, but its up to us to decide how to apply them on the canvas. Every piece we make is added to a mosiac that makes up the unique individual we are, each piece continuing to influence the over all theme. What does our mosiac say about us? Your art is a perfect example of how even one color can be used to create something amazing.
